THREE BIRTHDAY CAKES

The monsoon has begun,

And its my birthday week.

A normal, joyful year ahead,

Is all I seek.

I’m yet to cut my birthday cake,

I’m yet to make a wish.

But, I can’t help but recall,

My first baby in the petri dish.

My rainbow baby is ready to come,

And is jumping with joy inside of me.

She knows that she should smile,

On the birthday of her mom-to be.

Last year, on this day,

I lost my first baby.

But it’s her birthday too,

Says the baby inside of me.

I wish I could hold her,

And take her in my arms.

She’ll soon come back as my Rainbow baby,

After the despair calms.
